This was my second trip to Puerto Viejo in Costa Rica. I love it there.
We had to drive across three rivers to get to the volio waterfall. It was quite the adventure. The water from the waterfall was really powerful when it came down, and it hurt when it hit my hand. My dad pretended to throw me into the waterfall. It was scary and fun. There were a lot of little fish in the pool by the waterfall, as well as a huge spider.
Cooper and I made giant sandcastles on the beach. We tried to make them strong enough to survive the waves.
The monkeys at the Jaguar Rescue Center were so cute. The mommy and baby monkey fell asleep on my mom’s lap, and the baby monkey pooped on her. One of the Capuchin monkeys stole a guys hat while we were there. We also got to see an anteater, which was really cute.
The rocking chairs at Koki Beach were really fun. The guacamole and chips were delicious.
I spent a lot of time dancing on the beach,
and playing in the waves.
We also went ziplining. It was super fun, but at first I was scared. I got stuck in the middle of one of the ziplines and one of the guides had to come and get me.
Puerto Viejo is a really fun place for kids, with lots of super fun things to do. I can’t wait to go back again.
Finley’s “Favorite Five” for Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica
Favorite Restaurant: Todo es Posible. They had really yummy pizza – I ate 4 pieces! The waitress gave Cooper and I “Uno” cards to play with while we waited for our food, which was cool.
Favorite Snacks: Sticky Monkey Sandwiches (peanut butter, banana, and honey) from Caribeans, and passion fruit from the fruit stand guy.
Favorite Beach: Playa Chiquita. They had a bunch of tidal pools where Cooper and I found cool shells.

Favorite Tour: The Jaguar Rescue Center
