Zip-lining through the jungle was a highlight of my children’s travels through Costa Rica. The Terraventuras Canopy Tour is a must do for adventurous souls, allowing you to soar through the air from platform to platform, with a unique bird’s eye view of the lush primary rainforest below.
As the largest city in the Pacific Northwest, Seattle is a city that begs to be explored. Rain or shine, the engaging museums, iconic buildings, dazzling waterfront, and famous markets, will provide no end of activities for family adventures.
I have travelled to Puerto Viejo in Costa Rica two times.
I like building sandcastles on the beach. I built a big one with three moats. One of the moats kept getting covered with water, and got destroyed. I made a flag out of a stick. I think the castle looked a bit like a toilet.
This was my second trip to Puerto Viejo in Costa Rica. I love it there.
The Jaguar Rescue Center is one of our very favorite places to visit in Puerto Viejo; we have visited the center on two separate occasions, and both trips were amazing. The center is a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of sick and injured animals. Once the animals have made a recovery, they are released back into protected areas of the wild. Their most endangered species are released at La Ceiba, 45 hectares of primary forest nestled in the heart of the jungle. The dedication of all volunteers to the care of these animals is evident from the moment you step foot on the property – you can tell that they take their jobs very seriously and genuinely love the animals. The facility is well maintained, the staff is knowledgeable, and the animals seem genuinely happy.
Walking into the Gandoca – Manzanillo Wildlife reserve is like entering another world. This 23,348 acre wildlife refuge houses a collection of stunning rainforest and wetland habitat, with secluded beaches that will make you imagine that you are Tom Hanks in “Castaway”.
